Jenika behind Jenika’s Journals
I began my leather working journey shortly after my husband provided some gentle encouragement…it turned out to be like literally lighting a fire of enthusiasm and interest in my creative life! I was already using all the journals and planners…a full grown sticker collector and stationary enthusiast. So, when I put the two together, Jenika’s Journals was born. Since then I have crafted over 1,500 leather book covers and have sent them all over the world! EEEKKKK! I literally adore the craft and the community!
I am a one woman shop, who really is just a busy hobbyist. I build journal covers and leather accessories in my home-based shop. This “shop” is a room I completely took over in our home with a work bench and lots of leather. After the piece is “built” it travels with me while I do life. Any time I am siting, I am sewing. Except…at work. I am also a part time nurse working on a busy medical-surgical unit a couple days a week.
My other roles are wife, mom, daughter, sister, and friend. I enjoy coffee, which I know is very cliche BUT in my case, very true. I am confident I could drink most professed coffee drinkers under the table (recovering night shifter)!!! I love the outdoors, and have been seen sometimes walking and sewing, and this skill sometimes makes me feel very productive, and sometimes insane. I’m not sure if it’s a life hack or something pathological. Hehe.
I love Jenika’s Journals…a lot. Crafting leather book covers is a passion. Knowing that YOU are writing YOUR life story down in a book that is being hugged by one of my covers is so incredible to me. Seeing pictures of them after you have dressed them up is also so encouraging. So, thank you for your love, interest, and friendship.
Happy Journaling and Productive Planning!!
PS My name is pronounced “Jen-(short)i-kuh.”
